Hollander and Dekoning Mussels are grown in the waters off of Maine by the DeKoning Family. The family consists of 6th generation mussel farmers from the Netherlands who have brought their mussel farming pracitices over to the USA. These "dutch-style" mussels are extremely flavorful due to their bottom cultured farming methods. After about a year's time on the sea bed these mussels are harvested and sent out into the market.
